Mablethorpe

The Learning Centre in Mablethorpe has been open since 2008. We offer a programme for 16-18s called Flare as well as accredited and non-accredited courses for adults.

We support those looking for employment through our weekly Job Club (Thursday mornings 10.00 – 12.00) and are happy to assist anyone looking to explore their learning options.

Free computer access is also available.

Access to Higher Education Diploma: Health Professions

Access to HE is a Level 3 programme which prepares adults for a range of degrees in health professions such as: Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Health Studies (with GCSEs). Attendance is for one day per week but course members must be able to allocate at least an additional two days for study. Build your confidence, manage stress and anxiety

This friendly and supportive course is designed to develop confidence, self-esteem and resilience. Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) accredited training courses teach people to spot the symptoms of mental health issues, offer initial help and guide a person towards support. We don’t teach people to be therapists, but we do teach people to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis - and even potentially stop a crisis from happening. | Start date Monday 01/10/2018 | Length: 8 weeks | Centre: Mablethorpe | Cost: £ 45

Health & Safety for Employment

The programme offers a package of health and safety training using online materials and tutorial support, starting with an Introduction to Health and Safety at Work. Learners then have a choice of topics such as Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Back Safety and COSHH Awareness, according to their individual needs. Units include: Level 1 Award in Equality and Diversity, Level 1 Award in Understanding Employment, Business and Enterprise, Level 1 Award in Environmental Sustainability, Level 1 Award in Internet Safety for Users, Level 1 Award in Healthy Living, Level 1 Award in Health and Safety Awareness, CITB Health, Safety and Environment Course and Test and the CSCS Test. Students will need English skills in reading and writing at Level 1. Level 2 Certificate in understanding Autism

This qualification aims to develop learners’ understanding of autism and the principles of supporting individuals with autism – covering the person-centred approach and the influence of positive communication methods, how to support positive behaviour and how individuals with autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilling lives. It will also support progression to employment in a variety of sectors where an understanding of autism is required. Level 2 Certificate in Business Administration

This course provides you with the knowledge that is required to work in a range of environments in a business administration role. Emergency First Aid at Work (QualSafe Level 3 Certificate)

Everyone should do this course! It includes a wide range of tasks relating to managing an emergency – examination of the casualty, unconsciousness, control of bleeding and burns/scalds. You will develop the knowledge and skills of addition, subtraction and multiplying two-figure numbers by numbers up to 9. This course will also help you apply mathematical concepts to everyday situations, and supports progression to Functional Maths at Level 2. When authors think about publishing, they are often focused on print, but putting out an e-Book can be a much better idea! Makaton - Foundation

This course is recommended for professionals who need to use Makaton in their work and/ or people who require in-depth Makaton training. Mindfulness and resilience
